Designer & Installer — Brett Walsh Landscapes 

An award-winning garden designed to respond to both the architecture and the natural bush landscape. Set amongst granite outcrops, the garden uses stone as a defining element, creating a series of spaces that feel grounded in the site and connected to the surrounding landscape — a lovely example of a garden that works with what's already there, rather than competing with it. 

Landscape Architect — Prue Batchelor 

Perched high above Eagle Bay, this landscape was designed to complement a striking contemporary home while preserving the beauty of its surrounding bushland setting. Spanning over 480m² and featuring more than 2,300 plants — 94% of them native — the garden embraces the site's dramatic topography, retained marri trees and sculptural grass trees. The result is a contemporary bushland landscape that celebrates the rugged beauty of the South West coast while enhancing biodiversity, connection and everyday living. 

Landscape Architect — Nina Zheleva  ·  Installer — Backyard Creations 

Honouring the home's original architectural intent, the landscape refines its earthy material palette into a contemporary, site-responsive outdoor environment. Stone anchors a series of planned spaces that negotiate the steep terrain, integrating habitat-supporting planting and microbat housing to enhance ecological function. 

Home Owners and Garden Creators — Bill & Di Mitchell 

Perched on the clifftops near Smiths Beach, Yallingup, and framed by the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, this striking, award-winning garden showcases one of Australia's finest collections of flowering aloes and succulents, mass-planted in a dramatic, sculptural display.  

Julie Kinney, published author of 'The Garden Wanderer', will join us to present. 

Designer — Kylan Yoxall.  Installer – Cape to Cape Landscapes 

Set within the raw coastal landscape of Moses Rock, this garden has been allowed to loosen, soften and settle into its surroundings, shaped over time by wind, salt air, shifting seasons and the movement of local fauna. Plantings are encouraged to self-seed, move and evolve, creating a naturalistic landscape that feels deeply connected to place — wild, textural and quietly evolving, and inviting visitors to slow down and appreciate its quiet detail. 

Garden Creator & Proprietor— Pat Poynter 

Secluded within Brookland Valley Estate, the Secret Garden is a wedding venue set in a pristine peppermint forest alongside the Wilyabrup Brook, bringing together classical European structure and the soft beauty of the Australian bush. Cultivating the site from scratch since 1997, Pat engaged renowned landscape designer Paul Bangay to help realise her vision — his signature style of structure and balance is evident throughout, from wisteria-draped walkways to tranquil ponds and sweeping lawns.

Rural landscapes have unique challenges rarely found in built environments. The brief here included dealing with complex sloping topography, reusing existing site boulders and balancing site proportions. Through recycled boulders, careful manipulation of landform and generous spaces of grass and native planting, the result is a garden that this architecturally designed home sits comfortably within — resilient enough to handle water discharge, strong ocean winds and Augusta's cooler climate.

Drawing on the Cape Dutch werf tradition – where enclosed garden spaces were designed as protected, cultivated areas around the homestead – these gardens have a formal character shaped by strong geometry, symmetry, garden rooms and structured hedging. Today, the gardens continue to evolve under Voyager’s organic gardening philosophy, embracing a more natural approach and a degree of imperfection while retaining the character of the original design.

Our lunch stop brings city-style modern Asian dining to the heart of wine country, set on the grounds of Edwards Estate overlooking the vines and a beautiful garden, designed and installed by Brett Walsh Landscapes.   

Bento box and a glass of wine included in ticket pricing.

A naturally evolved garden with a creative mix of native, exotic, edible and many other curious treasures.   
“An arborist after many years offering his opinion stated ‘This garden doesn't know what it is!’.  I'll take that as a compliment! as a garden is a personal space and can be seen as a creative expression.”

A quick stop to view two neighbouring front gardens transformed from simple lawn-dominated verges into layered, welcoming landscapes. The designs strengthen the arrival to each home, create privacy for front rooms and soften the relationship between house and street. Using subtle landform, natural stone and a considered planting palette, each responds differently to its home while creating a greener and more generous streetscape. 

Home owners and avid gardeners — Pamela and Frank Edwards 

Nestled amongst the bush, Paradis is a series of beautifully crafted garden rooms — a woodland, ornamental pond, succulent garden, orchard, productive kitchen garden and native plantings. Lovingly created from bare beginnings, the garden reflects the owners' passion for learning, creating and sharing a peaceful sanctuary with both visitors and local wildlife.  Afternoon tea will be provided on arrival. 

Landscape Architect — Aspect Studios 
Presented by Architectural Designer, Jesse-Jane Van Zyl 

Idée Fixe is the dedicated Blanc de Blancs house of Margaret River pioneer Vasse Felix, crafted entirely from Chardonnay grown in the cool, Karridale vineyard. The surrounding landscape, designed by Aspect Studios, provides a fitting backdrop to unwind with a glass of sparkling and reflect on the day among the gardens.
