Design Brief:

The oversized doors of the apartment and a frameless glass balustrade showcase uninterrupted views of the entire city. The terrace is the physical conduit. The garden punches above its weight creating unique rooms that enhance the experience.

The curated planting of native and exotic species suited to the exposed windy site with a minimum depth of planting media was key to the performance and creation of the garden giving it a strong sense of place.

Judges’ Comments:

The garden is an excellent response to this unique and challenging site and the client’s expectations. Clever planting combinations and aesthetic structural supports pair well.  Each area of the landscape has a purpose with a range of plants that suits the functional garden zones, including entertaining, a productive garden and horizon lawn.
